Cryptanthus are a very cool and unique member of the Bromeliad family. The Latin name Cryptanthus means "hidden flower", for the small, insignificant white flowers. Seen from above you have a crumpled star shape, the strangest, stiffest ever leaves with crimped sawtooth edges banded in silver, pink, red, black and purples. Anchored in the rich, leaf litter, composty soil at the feet of trees of Brazilian jungles, it likes to think it's still in its jungle home in our homes. Bathrooms and kitchens are our dampest rooms so if there's bright light there, that's where they want to be.
- These plants are a bit rough and rumply and dry in appearance, with each plant varying quite a bit. We will choose a plant that is very close to the photo in size or larger for each order!

- Water - Medium (3): Water plant when dry. Plant does not like soil to always be moist, but doesn't like to stay dry once becomes dry. Water as soon as soil is dry.
- Light - Med/High (4): Needs more light than most, but direct light not necessary. Can handle morning and afternoon sun directly on leaves.
- Difficulty - Low (1): These plants need barely any attention to thrive. Set it and forget it.
