4" Philodendron Black Cardinal

$22.00

Black Cardinal, such a dramatic name for a dramatic new plant. The McColley family breeding program in Florida has turned out some really exceptional Philodendrons. Black Cardinal's a bushy plant, reaching 3' or so, then it gets busy filling out and fattening. The sublime color, bronzy/red new leaves turning deep green and then settling down to a deep, glossy black, (how do they do that?) ends up with foliage that looks like black leather. Prominent, paler veins give the foliage a satiny, quilty look.  Dramatic in a pot or basket in the living room, Black Cardinal is a definite eyecatcher. Low light is fine with this guy and being a humidity lover, it is perfect for bathrooms that combine low light with a steamy atmosphere. As if that's not enough, it's like having a super air purifier on all the time, removing at least 5+ dangerous compounds from the air and neutralizing them, blessing you with pure oxygen instead. Philodendron nuts will love this one!
