Ficus Altissima, or "Council Tree" is quite a character in the wilds of SE Asia it hails from. Starting life as an epiphyte growing on another tree, it sends out vigorous roots that anchor it to the ground and can strangle its host and then grow up to 100'. Much more nicely behaved in our own little wilds, Altissima will keep to a much more modest 6' or 7' (and maybe a little more). The strong, brown trunks support no-nonsense shiny and leathery leaves in a multitude of lemony-lime, citrusy green shades, all patchy and random. The prominent veins are bright yellow. Plants with multiple trunks in the pot make a gorgeous, bold specimen plant.
