Well, Thomas Cooper was an English plant collector in South Africa in the mid 1800's. He collected and documented this Haworthia that bears his name and we get to collect it now. This unique succulent is different from what you think of with Haworthias. Succulenty clumps of translucent, button leaves in jade green like glowing toes crowd together holding each other up in rosettes and reaching for the sky. Not much of a reach though, they only get a coupla inches tall but spread sideways and have baby rosettes to keep them company. The tiptoes are see-through windows you can actually peer into the center of the leaves, presumably to let in extra light to the plant's interior, an ingenious design. A slight pattern of random, vertical stripes in a greener green dash across the toes to their triangular tips. In a smaller pot it's easy to see the rosette form but in a larger one it's just a crazy pot of fleshy, green dots. On long stalks will come many pinkish white flowers, little tubes that open to little, wine striped posies for the hummingbirds. More of a shade lover, this is the ideal houseplant, able to be in lower light than most and so patient and amiable.

Drought Tolerant

Low Maintenance

Pet Friendly

Quick Care Guide:

Water - Low (1): Needs very little water to survive.
