This little red waif is a hybrid cross between Neoregelias Zebrina and Fireball, created by plant man Gary Hendrix. A mini version, each plantlet in a pot full of plantlets stay pretty short and small as Neos go, plants growing sideways rather than upways. A combo of pine and lime greens, the wide, strong, wavy leaf blades are speckled with red to burgundy freckles sometimes so thickly as to look mostly red. What's so fun about this Neo is the ever widening extended family of baby plantlets sprouting along the sideways network of thick stolons, shooting out horizontally hovering above the soil, even right out past the pot as if it doesn't care, those plantlets happily believing they are as well situated in midair as their parents in the soil. Them babies are so easily separated to be potted up or shared with your planty friends. Brightest light = brightest colors. In real bright light (a window maybe?) you can feel free to put a little water in the center cups and the plant will wait for your little frogs to come and leave little tadpoles in it to incubate just like the jungle Neoregelias it comes from.
