This Gem is named for Austral Farms in Australia, where it was developed. This is actually a Birdsnest Fern with no resemblance to the one that first comes to mind. Lime green and leathery, the fronds look so delicate with all the frilliness of a forest Maidenhair, but a stiff toughness that makes it so easy to grow and even neglect. There's a variety of triangular fronds branching out, some with rounded, almost maidenhair leaves, and some end in little forked fingers almost like tiny antlers, and some fronds sport both types of leaflets. A great choice for a newbie to the fern idea to start with.

Quick Care Guide:
- Water - Med/High (4): Prefers more water than most, but soil can dry out periodically. Use a spray bottle to mist and increase humidity levels without soaking the soil and roots.
- Light - Med/High (4): Needs more light than most, but direct light not necessary. Can handle morning and afternoon sun directly on leaves.
- Difficulty - Low/Med (2): A little less finicky than most. Doesn't require much attention at all.
