6" Ficus Benjamina

$25.99
Weeping fig is named for the shiny, grassy green, ripply leaves drooping downwards from grey, woody stems.  An all-purpose fellow, his uses reach from imposing landscape tree, neatly clipped hedge, or large and lovely, potted patio bush outside, to full, handsome, statement houseplant and small, potted accent plant inside.  Grown in the wild he soars to an imposing 60'. This official tree of Bangkok, beloved of the Thai people, is also a familiar sight in Israel in parks and as street trees. The only thing is, if you move him to a new location he's famous for having an emotional breakdown and throwing his leaves down in utter despair, only to releaf with new leaves equipped with what he needs to adapt to his new place. How does he do that?  A little extra water than most houseplants want and some vigorous pruning keeps him in the shape you want. He will quickly fill the pot and likes being rootbound for awhile. Watch out for the tiny, red, baby figs as your plant matures. They're actually edible, beloved of birds.
