09" Abutilon Tiger Eye

Lovely Chinese Lantern plant has lovely little Chinese lanterns all over it, nodding and swaying in the fragrant moist breezes of its natal subtropical jungles of Asia, or, in your own subtropical jungle at home. Soft, rich green, palmate, (hand shaped) leaves are slightly rumpled and crumpled and have a gentle sawtooth edge to them and are blessed with soft peachfuzz. Growing to around 6', give or take a bit, it makes a lovely, nice full bush, leaves close together, but so amenable and trusting you to trim it to any shape you'd like. But those lanterns! From a soft green, 5 point sepal hang cupped, rounded, overlapping petals in a bright, sunny yellow with dramatic scarlet veins branching downwards on the yellow. Like rounded bells, there is a center pistil, like a hibiscus has, below each flower like the clapper on the bell. Having no rules about when it wants to bloom, it's in bloom anytime, all year. Put it in the brightest light you got, but no direct sun through a window midday, you don't want a sunburn on those soft leaves. Another wonderful benefit to having your own Chinese Lantern is the air purifying element, removing formaldehyde and benzene and more from your air. And you won't believe those lanterns!
