The Darlingtonia has a darling name but it is a savage, carnivorous menace. Native to N. Calif. and W. Oregon swampy bogs, it just sits there waiting in the wetlands ferociously devouring insects. Hollow green pipes laced with a network of blood red veins sway out and up from the pot, ending in what looks like a happy smile, waiting for unsuspecting bugs, all innocent, to slip down its slick throats. More mature plants can grow up to 3' tall and will develop a large curved hood that envelops the pipe, also sprouting a fancy pair of deep red wings to add to the weirdness. In your bog, it will need a lot of humidity and loves terrariums. And bugs-great place to put your flies.
Also known as Cobra Lily, Cobra Plant for its resemblance to a Cobra snake, or California Pitcher Plant.

Quick Care Guide:
- Water - Med/High (4): Prefers more water than most, but soil can dry out periodically. Use a spray bottle to mist and increase humidity levels without soaking the soil and roots.
- Light - Medium (3): Plant prefers natural, diffused light. Can be placed in a spacious living room. Indirect light preferred. No direct sunlight on leaves.
- Difficulty - Medium (3): Not too difficult to keep happy, but does require some attention.
