6" Pitcher Plant

$50.00

The Sarracenia may have a sophisticated name but it is a savage, carnivorous menace. Native to the Eastern US and Southeast coastal plains and bogs, it just sits there waiting in the wetlands ferociously devouring insects. Hollow green pipes laced with a network of blood red veins sway out and up from the pot, ending in a flat, rounded lid perched on top like a little hat, waiting for unsuspecting bugs, all innocent, to slip down its slick throats. More mature plants can grow up to 3' tall and will develop deeper coloring and more dramatic veining across their lids and tubes. And bugs — great place to put your flies.

Also known as North American Pitcher Plant.
