Coleus we have had, actually since the 1600's, quite a history; wonderfully colorful, wildly patterned, treasured by the Victorians. Our Kong Coleus was developed by Pan American Seed Co. and introduced to us in the early 2000's. Kong features extra-large, limpid, ovate leaves with toothy edges and a pointy tip. They arrive in perfect pairs, gently overlaying the pair before, so lush and full you'll not see much of their yellow stems when they get going. But those colors! Emerald green and bright lime, rosy pink and carmine red, rich bronze and golden yellow, even a touch of black. Their gorgeous patterns printed on plush velvet, so exquisitely beautiful, are the Persian carpets of the plant world. As if it needs more, expect regular spires of a blue/violet color rising up from the growing tips. Pinching them off to keep the plant from losing its shape is the conventional wisdom, but you may want to leave them for just a few days. They're really pretty too.
