Mandarin (AKA Fire Flash) is a Spider plant that doesn't look at all like other Spiders. Growing more like a Chinese Evergreen, it has prolific wide, smooth, medium grass green, lance shaped foliage with a softly glossy sheen flowing out from the center on brightest orange petioles and with a big orange midrib. It gets to about 16" tall and a bit wider. He's called Fire Flash cause it looks like the entire center of the plant is on fire, and Mandarin cause the fire is brilliant tangerine like a Mandarin orange. Just two colors - deep, rich green and brilliant tangerine. It seems to want water a little more often, don't water until mostly dry, that just happens a little faster. Brightest light without direct sun will keep up the flaming colors, he won't want so much to hang but sit in a pot instead where you can look at him. Flowers sprout from the center on top, little white stars that give way to green triangular seeds.
