Rufibarbra looks like it should rattle when you bump it, it's so wavy and rattly. Lovely leaves where muted olivey, piney greens vie with muted burgundy maroons are evenly rippled like feathers. The nicknames "furry feather leaf" and "velvet Calathea" describe the tops and the undersides of the foliage's velvety, furry texture. Taller than most Calatheas, Rufi can get up to 3' tall if you're nice to him. By the way, "rufibarbra" means red beard, another way to describe the feathery, furry, rufous, velvety guy. You'll like him.
