Of course you should have an Ivy around. California Ivy is your basic, green, all purpose Ivy. Somewhat ruffly, five pointed leaves with lighter, branchy veins come in a mix of fresh, green shades on the same plant. The reddish stems turn beigy brown with age, becoming softly woody, pliable enough to hang gracefully. It's ideal for hanging pots, where it'll trail nice and long, or in arrangements to fill in between brightly colored feature plants. Rustic and earthy, a green ivy reminds one of the sylvan woodlands we miss. Be sure and cut a few winding stems for all your flower arrangements. Plant some in your larger plants' soil for a foresty carpet understory.
