4" Olea Europaea Olive Tree Topiary

$39.00

That most ancient of trees, the Olive, is a subtropical native of the Mediterranean, Africa and Asia, and perfectly at home in your Mediterranean corner, that is, near or in a sunny window. Fast growing, yet only reaching 25'-30' or so in all, the Olive makes up for it by gnarling and thickening and twisting its trunk to fanstastic shapes and proportions. Our little Topiary tree is in a tiny tree shape, with a slim, straight, grey trunk with a nice, tiny canopy of small, leathery, pointed oval, pine green leaves with grey undersides and a paler midrib. Olive trees are some of the oldest recorded trees, found throughout the Bible and other history and some brave trees can grow for thousands of years! Sooner or later there will be olives, after the poufy white flowers, to admire or try your hand at one of the many recipes for processing them (a lot of soaking is involved) and mixing them with juices, oils, spices, and vinegars for eating. Some time is called for but so fun to do!

  • Drought Tolerant
  • Pet Friendly
  • Low Maintenance

Quick Care Guide:

    • Water - Low (1):  Needs very little water to survive. Wait until the plant is completely dry then fully soak. Drought tolerant by nature.
    • High - (5):  Plant needs a lot of light; direct is even better. These plants do best when placed on a window sill or next to a bright window. Avoid concentrated, hot light from window which may cause burning (magnifying glass effect).
    • Difficulty - Low (1):  These plants need barely any attention to thrive. Set it and forget it.
