4" Ficus Clown Fig

We have run out of stock for this item.

Ficus Clown Fig may get his name from the silly fun of his crazy colors. A native of steamy South Pacific jungles (like so many of our beloved houseplants) as a midsized tree or big bush under the tallest trees, he makes (like so many of our Ficus varieties) a fine houseplant, able to be shaped any way you want. About those crazy colors, medium sized, leaf-shaped leaves with a papery texture and gently waving, rumply edges are tinted with a mix of pine to emerald to lime greens liberally mottled with creams and whites. The midribs and faintly visible veins are pinky cream. The alternate leaves are held out sideways from the familiar woody brown trunk. Sometimes, for reasons only known to the Clown himself, there will appear a brilliant splash of bright white variegation all over the top of his clown suit. He does what he wants. As is usual with Ficus, there are figs sometimes; clusters of round, gorgeously striped, and brightly colored in happy oranges, reds, yellows, pinks and greens; they're so fun to see but generally considered not so good to eat (although there are a couple of rumors of natives going ahead and eating them anyway.) This Ficus is a different look than our other Ficus but you'll know what to do with this Clown.
