4" Croton Iceton

$12.00

A lucky mutation in a greenhouse in Florida paved the way for this lovely new to us Croton Iceton. It was named for Mrs. Iceton, the wife of a prominent nursery owner in England in the late 1800's. It seems wives are a favorite source of names for new plants sometimes. This beautiful Croton has large, fine, shiny, strong, leaf-shaped leaves that are usually in the beginning 6-8" long but in a big grown up plant can reach 18". Really different in coloring, it's all green outlines, edges, patches and veins over pale to bright yellow newest leaves to peachy pale orange midleaves to rosy pink older leaves to just plain plain purply/black oldest leaves, with the oldest leaves staying on instead of shedding as in other Crotons. That makes for a really bushy plant. You can do some judicious pruning if you want. Inside, it will get to around 5-6' or so, outside in the warm places it can reach 8-10' tall. All this with keeping all its leaves mostly, and you have a really nice, full splashy rainbow of bright color.
