This monster looks just like the skeleton of a Monstera or a Philodendron if there ever was one. Take your regular Monstera Deliciosa and leave the basic yellowish, raised midrib with basic strong, yellowish, raised side veins and add just a small margin of actual leaf all along the veins and you have this guy. The leaves are emerald green, smooth and satiny. Found thriving in its namesakes' Roberto Burle Marx's own private collection (a famed landscape architect, plant lover, explorer and developer). It grows like the other Monsteras, climbing when allowed, up to around 6' and with monstrous leaves of 2'. The extraordinary, crazy leaves will arrange themselves in orderly fashion right then left on their strong, greeny/beige stems all facing you as they do their social climbing, sending out the requisite aerial roots to help out. Juvenile leaves will start out as unassuming solid, little, green hearts and quickly begin to split and skeletonize. Everyone should have this bone monster in their collection. He's so weird.

Water – Med (3): Likes the soil to be kept slightly moist, but not soggy. Water when the top 2 inches feel dry.
