4" Calathea Dottie

$17.00

Outgoing Dottie was discovered and patented in Florida in 1998; chosen and bred for her deepest, dark, blackish-green leaves. Each glossy and quilted leaf is highlighted with a zippy, bright pink halo and pink midrib, her undersides a flashy purple, with the overall appearance of a fancy, taffeta party dress. When she settles down and gets older, Dottie's mature shape is a round mound with her leaves all arranged in a nice circle of around 12" give or take a few.

Quick Care Guide:

  • Water - Med/High (4):  Prefers more water than most, but soil can dry out periodically. Use a spray bottle to mist and increase humidity levels without soaking the soil and roots.
  • Light - Medium (3):  Plant prefers natural, diffused light. Can be placed in a spacious living room. Indirect light preferred. No direct sunlight on leaves.
  • Difficulty - Medium (3):  Not too difficult to keep happy, but does require some attention.
