Somewhat new ( and new to us) Spath Jet Diamond is kindof the perfect variegated Spath we've been looking for but didn't know it. Sounding like an international spy, he's not a denizen of the steamy, misty rainforest floor, he's rather a carefully created cultivar from plant breeder Willem Brouwer in the Netherlands. Full bunches of lush leaves in the familiar long, lance shape of most Spaths like to point more upwards than most. They're not smooth and shiny, rather they're more textured, smaller and rumply/wavy. The lovely variegation of assorted white shades seems to come from the lighter green midvein and flow downwards, angling to the leaf edges. The brilliant white flowers are more profuse than other varieties. There are just a bunch of flowers when he decides to bloom, which is often. Jet Diamond's a patented guy, so no propagating this one, please! Just enjoy this one. You'll just love him.
