Raven-hued Ficus Decora Burgundy is a handsome fellow with big, leathery, oval foliage so deep in color, it's almost black. Bright red midribs complement the dusky leaves which glow with a lovely, subtle, burgundy sheen overall. New leaves poke up from the center as deep red points before they unroll. Burgundy prefers medium to bright light but will forgive you for a lower light condition by turning out larger leaves to collect more light. In the wild it can grow really colossal with big, ropy, aerial roots skylarking everywhere, but is much better behaved with you, usually getting to about 8' in the house. You will likely notice a few of those aerial roots as it remembers its wild beginnings. Prune it to any shape you want, remembering to wipe off the white latex sap.
