Native to the Polynesian islands, the Ming Aralias all share an ancient, antediluvian look of primeval trees; gnarled and bumpy, woody trunks and leathery leaves; you almost expect a dinosaur to be around the corner. Lacy, feathery, ferny green leaves cling to the wood in clumps. The bonsais created from young Mings are diminutive images of their full-size brethren sharing their primitive character and charisma. Our variegated Ming has a rich and beautiful cream edging on every lacy leaf. Put your Ming Bonsai in a special ceramic pot with maybe a pinch of moss and a favorite stone or two on a counter or shelf to admire. (And maybe a little dinosaur?)
