In 1828 Echeverias were named to remember Anastasio Echeverria Y Godoy, a well known and talented botanical artist who accompanied plant explorers on an expedition through Mexico in the late 1700s. He made 100s of beautiful, detailed illustrations, some of which were used in the book Flora Mexicana, written in French and widely studied. Echeveria Colorata was discovered growing in the mountains of Jalisco at 6800' elevation. Handsome Colorata is the perfectly even rosette of most Echeverias, growing up to a huge 16" circle, with many perfect, little baby rosettes peeking out from underneath. Colored in the softest, aqua blue/green, the almond shaped leaves are tipped with bright, cerise, pinky red points that look kind of fierce but are more soft than fierce. Flowers are tall, arched, pink poles with a curve like an old fashioned street lamp with pretty, rose pink lanterns ending in pointed tips with their glowing yellow lights on peeking out from underneath. Lovely in a mix of houseplants with different colors and textures, Colorata is super easy to have around.

Quick Care Guide:
- Water - Low (1): Needs very little water to survive. Wait until the plant is completely dry then fully soak. Drought tolerant by nature.
- High - (5): Plant needs a lot of light; direct is even better. These plants do best when placed on a window sill or next to a bright window. Avoid concentrated, hot light from window which may cause burning (magnifying glass effect).
- Difficulty - Low (1): These plants need barely any attention to thrive. Set it and forget it.
