The popular Swiss Cheese plant is, of course, named for the many holes in each leaf. Deep green, rumpled leaves have, if you look closely at them, a luminous satin sheen. Subtle mottling of the greens add to the unruly look of the leaves. Coming from Mexico, this wild trailer climbs trees using big grabby aerial roots. It is thought by some the holes in the leaves allowed wind to pass through, keeping the plant firmly anchored. In captivity you can expect vigorous growth and long wonderful vines. Supported on a pole, the leaves of a mature plant can grow quite large.
