4" Fern, Pteris Albo

$10.00
Pteris Albo Lineata Fern is a member of the brake ferns. Pteris means "feather" and Albo Lineata is Latin for the white line running down the center of the frond. Fantastic, jittery, skinny, new little five-fingered fronds in silver and sage green hover about above the main plant, growing wider into crispy, wavy, prehistoric looking foliage. Wiry, threadlike stems are stronger than they look, almost impossibly thin. Despite its delicate look, this fern is tough, only needing regular watering and loving some misting. Albo, and most of the Brake ferns, are somewhat cold hardy, thriving outside in shady fern glens in gardens with a warmer winter.

Quick Care Guide:

    • Water - Med/High (4):  Prefers more water than most, but soil can dry out periodically. Use a spray bottle to mist and increase humidity levels without soaking the soil and roots.
    • Light - Med/High (4):  Needs more light than most, but direct light not necessary. Can handle morning and afternoon sun directly on leaves.
    • Difficulty - Low/Med (2):  A little less finicky than most. Doesn't require much attention at all.
