4" Senecio Jacobsenii 'Trailing Jade'

Senecio Jacobsenii was first described by a couple of German horticulturists in Africa where it grows as a crawling groundcover, with African natives using the leaves as a treatment for their cattles fleas. Fat, fleshy stems sprout spoon shaped leaves of satiny, smooth, medium green crowding and leaning on each other. In a pot you can expect to have around 4' of nice trailing stems. They are so hardy they happily can tolerate freezing cold to blazing sun. Colder weather brings a pretty, purply blush to the leaves. Bright orange dandelion type flowers decorate the stems often.

Quick Care Guide:

• Water - Low (1):  Needs very little water to survive. Wait until the plant is completely dry then fully soak. Drought tolerant by nature.
• High - (5):  Plant needs a lot of light; direct is even better. These plants do best when placed on a window sill or next to a bright window. Avoid concentrated, hot light from window which may cause burning (magnifying glass effect).                     
• Difficulty - Low (1):  These plants need barely any attention to thrive. Set it and forget it.
