6" Graptoveria Superbum

$15.00

This superb Graptoveria is a beautiful rosette of rounded tabs for leaves with a nice curve and point to the tips, tabs that lay mostly flat on their neighbors, the whole rosette around 6" wide at maturity. Heavenly, soft, watercolor lavender hues wash over the leaves, sometimes dabs of bright or soft pinks, with winter's weather bringing sometimes electric coral touches. Oldest leaves, laying flat under the new growth, can acquire a tea stain of olive/brown. In the ground, Superbum likes to slowly make a family clump, in your pot, you will get the new family members off to the sides to leave for fullness or separate for new plants. In the wild there have been sightings of old specimens of this plant all tall up to 7" tall (we haven't seen anything like that) ours are pretty well behaved. The surprising flowers are ghostly, jointy, branchy stems that branch out bearing a bouquet of spidery 5 point stars in pale yellowy/lime with burgundy speckles centered with a pointed orange flower bud also tipped in burgundy. The flowers look, up close, like little spotted orchids. Really unusual and pretty. So easy, just stick one in a pot with loose, light soil and bright light and leave it alone, watering once in awhile. Wait for those flowers and look up close.

    Quick Care Guide:

      • Water - Low (1):  Needs very little water to survive. Wait until the plant is completely dry then fully soak. Drought tolerant by nature.
      • High - (5):  Plant needs a lot of light; direct is even better. These plants do best when placed on a window sill or next to a bright window. Avoid concentrated, hot light from window which may cause burning (magnifying glass effect).
      • Difficulty - Low (1):  These plants need barely any attention to thrive. Set it and forget it.
