Albovittata translates to "white belt" probably for the varying sizes of white stripes on the minty, pale green leaves. This cultivar of fluminensis is also known as "giant inch plant", a reference to the idea that Tradescantia leaves in general are one inch apart on their stems. The leaves also wrap around the stems, hugging them instead of being borne on petioles (or little stems). The Albiflora part of the name means "white flower", and you can guess why. This variety has fatter stems than most Tradescantias and roots super fast, like all the wandering jew plants.
