4" Alocasia Frydek, Variegated

$50.00

Frydek is a name unclear of origins, thought to be an alternate spelling of a more well known Alocasia name, but has come to mean this particular plant, both regular green and the variegated one. A pot of really big arrowhead shaped leaves in soft-to-the-touch, pine green velvet with very visible wide bright white veins; that's the regular Frydek, spectacular in itself, but add in the excitement of brilliant white patching and mapping and you have variegated Frydek. Something like looking at satellite images of our Earth from afar, the variegation knows no rhyme or reason, some leaves with solid, pure white patches or one whole white side divided down the center, some with crazy mottling everywhere with assorted milky greens thrown in, and some crazy leaves showing up just completely green, just to mix it up. Expect a 2'-3' crowd of crazy colors when mature. Easy care and exotic looking.

  • Toxic: All parts of plant are toxic. Keep away from children and pets.

Quick Care Guide:

  • Water - Med/High (4):  Prefers more water than most, but soil can dry out periodically. Use a spray bottle to mist and increase humidity levels without soaking the soil and roots.
  • Light - Medium (3):  Plant prefers natural, diffused light. Can be placed in a spacious living room. Indirect light preferred. No direct sunlight on leaves.
  • Difficulty - Medium (3):  Not too difficult to keep happy, but does require some attention.
