Naturally occurring Tricolor pictum is a native of Sumatra developed its spotty reputation all on its own, colored to blend in and disappear in the dappled shade and many lovely shades of green found there. Maybe it tastes good to browsing wildlife? Big, soft, wide oval leaves are painted and splotched with light sage green, emerald, lime, jade and pine like army camouflage fabric, designed to hide out from who knows what. The leaves are offset on their stem, not a whole lot of them, being so big. Older plants will develop charachter as their stems turn to stronger greeny/beige canes that don't necessarily grow straight but can lean and sway around. The pretty pattern on the leaves is reason enough to want this plant, easy care and being happy anywhere is another.
