4" Gasteraloe Okavango

$8.00

The "Ox Tongue" plant (we love to tell you the nicknames) is a cross between Gasteria and Aloe, and named for the Okavango region of Botswana; this sturdy guy is a handsome plant. Fat, long, triangle shaped leaves come to a thin, prickly point splaying out from the middle in a basically tall rosette shape. Leaves of deep emerald green with a deep, dark purply burgundy shading deep in the center, are covered all over with bumpy white bumps, evenly spaced. He's a shorty, getting about 6" or so but makes up for it with multitudes of offset pups to fill the pot. The bloom is borne on a wiry, thin, greyish stem rising out of the center holding a spire of coral, orangy, pink bells. Not so much sunlight, but bright, near a window light is what he asks for.

Quick Care Guide:

    • Water - Low (1):  Needs very little water to survive. Wait until the plant is completely dry then fully soak. Drought tolerant by nature.
    • High - (5):  Plant needs a lot of light; direct is even better. These plants do best when placed on a window sill or next to a bright window. Avoid concentrated, hot light from window which may cause burning (magnifying glass effect).
    • Difficulty - Low (1):  These plants need barely any attention to thrive. Set it and forget it.
