Hypoestes means "under the house" which refers to the shape of the flower, but in warm winter places can be planted in the ground at least next to the house; a nice and full, bushy, little guy in your garden or in your home. Leaves are papery, pointy ovals in a really nice, fresh green with poky dots (hence the other nickname "Polka Dot Plant") in just the whitest white you have ever seen. Some of the poky dots are so friendly they join hands and become splashes of brilliant white. Those papery leaves are kinda thin so you must watch the watering and not let this guy get bone dry. He flowers often whenever he's in the mood in little, purply, honeysuckley flowers on short spikes in between the leaves. Our popular Polka Dot Plant will make a big splash when you introduce him around to your other plants!
