4" Peperomia Optipan Bicolor

$12.00

Peperomias we have had around for a long time, and this one at first glance may look like our familiar Bicolor Pep. Plant breeder Obed Jacob Smit has patented this Obtipan, the name being a combo of the first letters of the parent plants' names. Rounded, scoopy, thick and rubbery leaves are edged in a wide border of lemon cream, with various, milky green splotches in the centers, alternately placed on their fleshy stems; those things we are familiar with in the regular Peperomia Bicolor. Here are the well bred traits we have in the Obtipan. The leaves are much rounder without the long wide point of the Bicolor. Much more compact and close growing also, it's a neater plant, really very pretty with all those leaves so close together, presumably less space between leaves. Another hallmark is quite visible, recessed veins on this one quilting the leaves. There was also hybridized and patented a green version of Obtipan. Flowers are unassuming, pale green spires that rise up amid the plant, sometimes. He is really the best of everything in a Peperomia and like the Peps we know and love, totally safe around your fur babies!
