4" Sedeveria Super Donkey Tail

$8.00

Super Donkey Tail is a super version of our familiar old Donkey Tails we've had and loved for many years. A hybrid created by plantman Dick Wright, he snuck in an Echeveria in a cross between two genera, Sedevaria and Echeveria. He named it Dick Butterfield too, not sure who that may be, maybe a friend? The Echeveria bringing a super size and sturdiness, with much less leaf drop we had with our regular Donkeys, which you  were kinda afraid to touch and cause a shower of leaves leaving. Fat, shaggy stems superpacked with the familiar, luminous milky green, fat, pointy, succulent leaves are so fat and full they point straight up for as much as 12" before going over the pot's edge, not so much diving over, but leaning as space permits. As far as how long they will trail, believe it or not they can reach 6"! Super slow growing, they will take a few years to get there, though. Flowers come whenever they want, short sprays of fat, pink and green buds ending in 5 little points, brightest red inside, many buds held on a single peduncle. Butterflies and hummingbirds love them.

  • Drought Tolerant
  • Low Maintenance

Quick Care Guide:

    • Water - Low (1):  Needs very little water to survive. Wait until the plant is completely dry then fully soak. Drought tolerant by nature.
    • High - (5):  Plant needs a lot of light; direct is even better. These plants do best when placed on a window sill or next to a bright window. Avoid concentrated, hot light from window which may cause burning (magnifying glass effect).
    • Difficulty - Low (1): These plants need barely any attention to thrive. Set it and forget it.
