Deep Purple Strobilanthes was civilized and treasured in Victorian households since it was first trekked out of Burma, and we plant connoisseurs have loved it ever since. Also called 'Persian Shield,' its moody and romantic mystique is stirred by the purple foil finish on the leaves with dark green veins and an olive shadow along the sawtooth edges. Violet, cone-shaped flowers give it the clownish nickname "Bermuda Conehead." For those of us who love purple, there is plenty to love in this bewitching plant.

- Water - Medium (3): Water plant when dry. Plant does not like soil to always be moist, but doesn't like to stay dry once becomes dry. Water as soon as soil is dry.
