6" Alocasia Dwarf Amazonica

Dwarf Amazonica is a diminutive member of the Alocasias, 18" is max size of this little baby. Some Alocasias get to enormousness with great, flapping elephant ears, and we love that, but for those of us who want the tropical, wild beauty of an Alocasia in less space, this one is perfection. His leaves are set way closer together and are not ironed flat but have a ripple/rumple texture and a low shine. Large arrowhead shaped leaves, with deepest, pine green surfaces with burgundy undersides are held on reddish petioles. The few main veins poke out in bold silver from the strong midrib like thorns to the edge of the leaves. The leaves also have highlighted silver outlines on the curvy and scalloped edges, inherited from his Alocasia dad, the Kris plant, so named for the wavy shape of the short African dagger called a kris. He's an exotic, wild, tropical beauty to brush by as you prowl around your own tropical jungle.

    • Toxic: All parts of plant are toxic. Keep away from children and pets.
    Quick Care Guide:
    • Water - Med/High (4):  Prefers more water than most, but soil can dry out periodically. Use a spray bottle to mist and increase humidity levels without soaking the soil and roots.
    • Light - Medium (3):  Plant prefers natural, diffused light. Can be placed in a spacious living room. Indirect light preferred. No direct sunlight on leaves.
    • Difficulty - Medium (3):  Not too difficult to keep happy, but does require some attention.
