6" Aphelandra White Gardenia

$29.00

White Gardenia, of the lovely, pure white variegation and smaller leaves than regular old Zebra, is a lovely new development in the Aphelandra world. Paired leaves held on strong, fleshy burgundy stems have the same white stripes as Zebra, but with a wider center stripe washing out to a pond of brilliant white, the side forks more jittery than ever. Those leaves don't lay flat, rather they curl and wave, most unruly, some plants have leaves that all want their pointed tips to curve counterclockwise for some reason, (some clockwise too). They don't get too big, and pinching will encourage side branches and more fullness. We are supposing this plant will bloom like other Aphelandras with the stacked, bright yellow bloom, but we haven't seen that yet.

Quick Care Guide:

  • Light - Medium (3):  Plant prefers natural, diffused light. Can be placed in a spacious living room. Indirect light preferred. No direct sunlight on leaves.
  • Difficulty - Medium (3):  Not too difficult to keep happy, but does require some attention.
