From the Columbian rainforest Xanthosoma, with foliage like giant arrows, comes in a rich, vibrant, basil green with a brilliant white midrib and branching veins, forking up into the arrows' top points. Some plants shine a glaring flare of limelight in the center of each leaf. Each leaf is a real special event borne on brown, hairy legs (petioles). Everyone agrees this plant will grow to 3' but rumours of much larger specimens are out there. This is a very striking and beautiful plant, especially when it's large. Now, if your Xanthosoma were to go leafless when you're doing your level best with it, never fear, it should sprout again. Sometimes they just take a break, especially when they get cold.
Quick Care Guide:
- Water - Med/High (4): Prefers more water than most, but soil can dry out periodically. Use a spray bottle to mist and increase humidity levels without soaking the soil and roots.
- Light - Medium (3): Plant prefers natural, diffused light. Can be placed in a spacious living room. Indirect light preferred. No direct sunlight on leaves.
- Difficulty - Low/Med (2): A little less finicky than most. Doesn't require much attention at all.
