$47.00

We have run out of stock for this item.

From the Columbian rainforest comes wild Xanthosoma; bold, fearless and intrepid. Relative of Caladiums, known for large, colorful foliage, it's no surprise he's large and colorful. With leaves like giant arrows, he's a rich, vibrant, grass green overall with a brilliant, white midrib from which flow arcing, sparking, branching veins, forking to the leaf edges and even up into the arrows' top points. Some plants shine a glaring flare of limelight in the center of each leaf, with new leaves arriving in bright lime green. Each leaf is a real special event borne on brown, hairy legs (petioles). Everyone agrees this plant will grow to 3' but rumours of much larger specimens are out there. The leaves will grow larger as the plant grows up and he will sprout more plants in the pot. Now, if your Xanthosoma were to go leafless when you're doing your level best with it, never fear, it should sprout again. Sometimes they just take a break, especially when they get cold.

Quick Care Guide:

  • Water - Med/High (4):  Prefers more water than most, but soil can dry out periodically. Use a spray bottle to mist and increase humidity levels without soaking the soil and roots.
  • Light - Medium (3):  Plant prefers natural, diffused light. Can be placed in a spacious living room. Indirect light preferred. No direct sunlight on leaves.
  • Difficulty - Low/Med (2):  A little less finicky than most. Doesn't require much attention at all.
