Lovely Krimson Queen, another striking Calathea hybrid created by talented plant breeders for us to have and to hold. A nice, little 12"ish bush, it's all about the colors. Large, really roundo, oval leaves are saturated in a brilliant, shocking pink overall and banded with a 1/2" black edge. The leaves have a satiny sheen and a gentle, watery ripple on the surface, with slightly raised, visible veins. The bright pink has feathery edges as it borders the black and in some random places there is a violet patch as the colors merge into each other. Quite beautiful! Some plants sport a bit lighter pink but still that bright intensity. Leaves mostly lay flat out to the side but this Queen is pleased to raise her leaves to clasp each other in prayer with all her Calathea kin each night, opening in the morning after a night of intercession for you. Nondescript, tiny, 5 petaled, lime green flowers rise up out of the center, occasionally.
