6" Chinese Evergreen Jubilee

A jubilee is a very happy occasion, a nice name for a nice plant, not new but new to us. A hybrid child of two Aglaonemas in a Florida greenhouse created in 1982 by B. Frank Brown, the Jubilee is here. Very much like Chinese Evergreen Silver Queen, with the long, pointed, satiny-feeling, lance-shaped leaves, it has very much the same colors, silvery leaves with emerald green edges. The main difference in the coloring unique to Jubilee is that the silver stays more in the middle and the green stays more on the edge with still some, but much less, random spotting, just more silver-looking overall. Real pretty! Clumpy-bushy like most of our Evergreens, Jubilee gets to around 18" of bushy fullness. Flowers will come, like all Evergreens, the usual, little, hooded lily look, but not much to look at, and actually the plants grow more vigorously if you pinch them, not wasting time and energy on them, although the red berries that come later are attractive. Moderate light, moderate water and moderate feeding will be appreciated, nothing special to its care.
