Mexican native Shaviana was named by its discoverer to honor the founder of the Missouri Botanical Garden, Henry Shaw, who lived in the 1800s and created the garden to increase the scientific study and knowledge of plants. You have a milky, blue/grey/green rosette of pointy-tipped curved spades slowly growing up to 5 or 6", with the added excitement of bright pink, crinkly, wiggly edges. More light = more pink, flushing down the leaf from the tips. No pruning is really ever necessary for Echeverias, just removing brown stuff and if you want to separate and pot up them babies they always have. As usual for Echeverias, he blooms. A great, one foot blue/grey/green pole rises up layered with pointy buds with rose pink in between them that open up to yellow/orange insides, very colorful and extravagant and so attractive to bees, butterflies and hummingbirds who happily pollinate them while drinking their nectar.

- Water - Low (1): Needs very little water to survive. Wait until the plant is completely dry then fully soak. Drought tolerant by nature.
- Light - High -5): Plant needs a lot of light; direct is even better. These plants do best when placed on a window sill or next to a bright window. Avoid concentrated, hot light from window which may cause burning (magnifying glass effect).
- Difficulty - Low (1): These plants need barely any attention to thrive. Set it and forget it.
