Weeping fig is named for the shiny, grass green, rippled leaves that droop downwards from grey, woody stems. An all- purpose plant, its uses reach from imposing landscape tree, neat clipped hedge, or large potted patio bush, to full handsome statement houseplant and small potted accent plant. This official plant of Bangkok, beloved of the Thai people, is a strong grower and easy to maintain. A little extra water than most houseplants and some vigorous pruning keeps it in your desired shape. Watch for the tiny, red baby figs as your plant matures.
