Melanie is a dark and dramatic version of the Ficus Decoras we know and love. All blackish burgundy and deepest pine green, the oval leaves of our Melanie have a nice glossy finish, arriving in pairs. Light green midribs divide the leaves, which arrive on the scene rolled up in a rubbery, red sleeve that slips off as the leaf unfurls. She's a pretty, dark thing lurking in the corner or out in the open, growing into the familiar Robusta bushy tree shape with its smooth, light brown stems, even and orderly branching and leaves evenly spaced and tidy. With her leaves having such a saturated darkness she can go in less light too. She's just so very moody, mysterious and lovely.
