6" Philodendron Micans

$29.00

Traveling to us from from exotic Central and South American jungles, Micans is an alluring, romantic vision of burgundy velvet hearts with long, pointy tips.  Glowing deep, dark maroon and so moody, the soft leaves are veined in dramatic, whitish lime green, with thin, pinkish green stems and deep maroon undersides. The entire plant is suffused with a ruby, misty glow. If you peek closely at the leaves you can see little iridescent sparkles, tiny crystally windows, maybe to cleverly let more light in. In the wild tropical jungles near the equator it was a free-spirited, tree climbing epiphyte, hugging any old tree and holding on for dear life in its quest for light and water and fallen leaves and any old, assorted rainforest detritis it can feed on. Micans is usually found as a hanging plant, but supported on a pole, it seems to grow faster with certainly much larger leaves fondly remembering those trees it used to hug. Also, on a pole it will turn all those moody hearts to face you.
