Gorgeous newcomer Red Sun is a regular, lush, emerald green Philodendron with the most flaming, scarlet red new leaves you've ever seen. Large, shiny, rich green leaves, surfaces rumpled between the pale, yellowy green veins, fan out evenly in a circle around the stem, making a pleasing bushy shape. Newest leaves emerge at the top like raised hands in reddest red vinyl with an even brighter tinge to the midveins. After the lipstick red, a burgundy blush washes over the leaves as they settle down to take their place with the green mature ones below. Short stems of saturated burgundy with some red add more lovely color. Bushing rather than climbing, expect Red Sun to grow ever larger leaves as it widens. Beautiful in a basket or pot on the floor.
