2" Sinocrassula Yunannensis

$9.01

Sinocrassula Yunannensis means "Chinese jade from the Yunan province" in China. Described as mostly rosette shaped, it can go for a long time as a nice, orderly, simple rosette and suddenly go nuts and add on more apartments upstairs in the form of a tall, (or short) shaggy stalk and burst out out more rosettes on top. Rumours of 3' in height in really mature plants (that's not really very mature behavior) in the wild heights of that mountainous Yunan area of China above 8000'. The rosettes are amazing looking, all spiky with fat and juicy, succulenty leaves shaped kinda like fat olive pits crowded and pointing out in even patterns on each stem. Coloured in a dark grey/blue/green with some purpling to dusky black from living in sunnier areas or in the cold of winter. The multitude of identical colorful leaves is the attraction here. The flowers are quite spectacular too. From the tops will rise the bloom stalk supporting an improbably large bouquet of short red stems with big sprays of bright red buds opening up to a constellation of tiny white stars. As changeable as the form of this guy, it is much more susceptible to cresting and showing monstrose shapes, usually rare and desirable and collectible. • Drought Tolerant
  • Low Maintenance

Quick Care Guide:

    • Water - Low (1):  Needs very little water to survive. Wait until the plant is completely dry then fully soak. Drought tolerant by nature.
    • Light - High (5):  Plant needs a lot of light; direct is even better. These plants do best when placed on a window sill or next to a bright window. Avoid concentrated, hot light from window which may cause burning (magnifying glass effect).
    • Difficulty - Low (1):  These plants need barely any attention to thrive. Set it and forget it.
